1:33 seriously though who can go up to a guy who’s riding a crotch rocket and say (HEY! I bet I can do a better stoppie than you in my pickup!
@carlbesola i have seen a ford over heat like that but not a chevy u run a chevy hot just alittle and its gone and the dodge its the same way the dodge when it loses it oil pressure its gone but i have seen both chevy and ford run after losing oil pressure but u can run a ford all day long with no oil pressure and it still wont quit
sweet i want one of them old ford trucks vans what ever u wanna call em
you know ford has been using torsion bars for their 4×4s for about 13 years right?they used it to replace the shitty TTB axle that rides like shit and wear tires weird
my ‘71 would like to disagree with you.one front coil finally broke about 2000 and the rear coils are still fine.the truck isn’t rusty at all.well, rust free as a unrestored 39 year old truck can be
Dude, you’re a moron, you cant overheat a motor without causing damage in SOME WAY. Furthermore, I had a SB 400 in my 74 Chevy 3/4 ton, overheated it to the point where it shut down and granted I had to replace the heads but I did and it ran strong as ever. Just TRY telling me that overheating ANY motor wont warp the heads, BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
more chevy biased media. no wonder these chevy hammerhead kids today are so misguided. chev has great 6 cyls smooth coils yes. but they don’t show a year later when the chev’s coils broke and the chev’s cab was rusted out and the doors wired on, and the ford still decent. all those chevy biased magazines make them too much money, i wouldn’t take a boxy ugly clunky old chev for free
it might not have handling issues but it sure is an ugly peice of crap.
this just proves to me that chevy lied back then and continues to lie today. well, the sales do the speaking, and its more ford then chevy.
that is total bs that the corvair truck had handling issues!!! I’m 18 i bought the truck when i was 15, it has a been a work horse, and the rear tires have so much traction!!! only time the rear end has slipped was when i took a turn to fast, and it slid only about a foot to the sidebefore catching again, the coravir truck is an amazing vehicle and Nader was an idiot to oppose it
I’ve seen Chevy trucks that were broke in half, I’ve seen where their fancy torsion bars broke off the rusted frames as well as their trailing arms in the rear. I grew up around auto salvage, and in my opinion GM never made a better truck than Ford or Dodge. Also, a GM engine can never take being overheated without screwing something up, whereas I have seen Ford and Chrysler engines over heat to the point of locking up, then cool back down and go for a few more years!
also why didn’t they show the Chevy Covair van fish tailing off the road? hence all that weight in the rear, which all adds up to the classic pendulum effect,
what they don’t tell you is how bad the Chevy van sways in the corners, like a pendulum effect hence rear mounted motor, which is dangerous in corners or on wet or icy road conditions, just like the VW Beetle and Porsche and Covair car, and any rear mounted engine vehicle, they tend to fish tale easily, also this is a very biased video and proves nothing, at the end of the day more old Fords are still on the road from this time period then General Mishaps trucks, the fords got the work done!
chevy was making them the best back then, and still are
you know what they did dont you to make chevy look better they turned the brakes up on the front
My econoline wasnt this bad either I never have liked the way the corvairs looked but also am not dissing chevies just prefer fords.
I have a Ford Econoline truck….and it isnt as bad as this one.
omg the chevy breaking into on the jack test
to bad there is no sound ….thanks for the upload
lol good breaks on the ford …..that back ways nothing on it it would do bitching burn outs….
No matter what. That was a scary 60-0 stop test with the Ford truck…YIKES!
hey, gw: ive subscribed to ure channel! keep the faith, bro!
peace out and corvair/chevy dreams!
gw: amen brother! ive driven so many p/up trucks and vans for the military it aint even funny. i must say my dad’s vair vans and rampy’s beat them any day! plenty of power (for even more drop a 140 in em) 2 ways of loading and unloading AND they get 30 mpg. nice ride on the road and really nice to have the weight on the back wheels (better traction in slick conditions). obviously, they wernt made to go mudding. but, if u want a great work/camping/traveling vehicle with good mpg corvair is it!
Why didn’t they compare the non unibody ford truck? And also that dude driving that ford three ton is putting lots of effort into making it look a lot worse than it really is, what a fag.
craig,I wised up I bought a toyota,Ill never buy an american enginered vehicle again
