So today’s show, if it wasn’t a season premiere, would have gone immediately into the “absolutely forgettable, see you tomorrow” bin. That said, there are several nice, new things to notice in this video, like WoF last week, if you ignore the gameplay: -New light border -New logo animation -New set (d’oh) -New LCD screens on CR bid displays -New Plinko reveal with GREAT shot (DiPirro: strong always) Also note the opening was shortened, at least the Bob Barker part was not removed. Of course, you have to laugh at the 2nd bid of the season there. And now, I will rant in one sentence on the setup of Plinko, despite L7 being significantly easier than it has been: WHY IN THE WORLD, ON A SEASON PREMIERE ESPECIALLY BUT ANYTIME AS WELL, WOULD ANY RIGHT-MINDED PERSON MAKE ALL FOUR SMALL PRIZES “STARTS WITH”?

The jib camera is a great addition.
i love this show i would always wake up early to watch but now i dont know if it comes on anymore or what channel
i guess i will have to watch it here
I wish they would bring back the part where Rich says ” Stay tuned for more pricing games and the fabulous showcases which are coming up on the 2nd half of The Price is Right “
I hope in the future episodes, the One Bid (Contestants’ Row) displays might show The Price Is Right logo of their contestants until the contestant in question makes a bid (like the insignias in Veterans Day in November 2009). I wanna see The Price Is RIght logo in each of the Contestants’ Row displays, please.
The Price Is Right logo might display in the future episodes for the One Bid rounds until a bid is placed in them as it did from the Veterans Day episode from November 2009.
In the future episodes, The Price Is Right logo might display in each One-Bid podiums (red, blue, yellow, green).
I’m so mad jealous about the dresses that the models get to wear. They’re crazy beautiful.
drew carry 6:03 6:08 6:13 6:18 6:27!
It was also mentioned a few years back by Rich Cronin that Monty Hall of “Let’s Make a Deal” told Rich that a host’s requirements would be “great hair, white teeth, and the ability to let the contestants be the star.” I think Drew’s trying to follow those footsteps, so I can’t blame him.
It’s exactly 9,000! …Not.
Well, contestant two was only off by about $6,600 lol! I’d love to know what the heck he was thinking when he made that bid.
“The intro to the show was changed because we wanted to get to the ‘come on downs’ quicker. I also asked to not be called ‘The Star of The Price Is Right!’ Im just the host. The contestants and the prizes are the stars.” – Drew Carey
I’d guess that was Drew’s request.
Because Alex Trebek refuses to be referred to as “the star of Jeopardy!” for instance.
I was already told that!
Nope… they raised the Race Game curtain during the early days of Plinko
They got rid of it so they can add 5 seconds of commercial time ;l.
Well we have to distinguish the crowd that Watches TPIR and the people who Play TPIR.
CR could’ve been done better. I actually like the turntable set better than that 3′rd grade paint project that was there. The turntable looks lost, though.
The Showcase Showdon podia FINALLY gets an update. It’s probably the only part of the show that was constantly updated until the mid ’90’s. Don’t care much for the scalable font, though.
I love this new set & the new Plinko intro shot, but where the “Star of the Price is Right” at the intro?
Also, the normal colors in Contestants’ Row previously used from January 31, 2003 through June 15, 2007 is once again restored.
The big wigs at CBS call the shots. That’s never a surprise when they have to fill TV time with commercials. Believe me, I work in TV and that where it’s gone.
I have always had that same thought. At least give the contestants time to get into Contestants’ Row before they call another. That has always bugged me (since they started cutting the come-on-down camera time around Season 33).
I was also expecting the Plasma Screen in the back of the audience to be much larger than it is seen here.
I like the silver border on the contestants row bidding screens. Are they smaller?
Starting this season, when Drew comes out through the big doors, they say “Here’s your host” instead of “Here is the star of The Price is Right.” I wonder why??
